When: Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Where: At the Celebration K-8 School (510 Campus Street, Celebration FL)
Our Mission: To serve the children of our community and the staff of Celebration K-8 School!
Mrs. Rene Clayton has a heartfelt desire to transform the Celebration K-8 school into something the entire community can be proud of as a jewel within the center of our town. The administration wants to do a number of projects to get the school in tip-top shape before classes resume in late August. But quite frankly they lack the manpower, the resources and the time to do ALL that they desire. As you know our public schools often have limited resources. We have asked Dr. Kennedy to create their dream list of projects and needs, and we have committed to mobilize a team to get it all done… IN ONE DAY! To do this it will take over 250 volunteers! That’s where you come in.
What kind of work will we be doing?
Anything and everything! Painting, pressure washing, cleaning, pulling weeds, spreading mulch, moving desks, and more!
How do I join the team?
Please signup using the form below. It’s that easy!
What should I wear?
Wear clothes that can get dirty (and possibly even to paint in). Work clothes! Some of the projects will be outside so be sure to dress for warm weather.
What if I can’t work ALL day?
That’s ok, just let us know what hours you are available and we can assign you to a team accordingly.
Other Details:
We are all meeting in the courtyard of the K-8 School at 8:30 am on Saturday, August 14th. At that time we will split everyone up into teams with Team Leaders to attack the project list. Each team will complete their task and then move on to the next task or jump in with another team to help with some of the bigger projects. There will be water stations outside for team members to utilize throughout the day. We recommend bringing a bottle of water to carry around.
