A Call to Prayer
Joe Saragusa, Lead Pastor

Prayer changes things, influences people, opens doors, and provides results when all your human effort has availed none. But most of all prayer changes me as a person and it brings change to the world!
Prayer draws me closer to God. We rely on God to show us, teach us, and to guide us. David writes in Psalms 24:4-5, "Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." When God shows me, He has my heart; when God
teaches me, He has my mind; when God guides me, He has my hand. When we pray, we grow in strength and wisdom to meet the visions and challenges we pray for!
Prayer provides a path to experience and live our full potential as a Christ follower. Because you have declared that Christ leads and oversees your life, you have access to God's power and authority, and you access that power and authority through prayer.
God's hand moves when we who are part of the Christ community pray together.
There are multiple stories that can be written in volumes attesting to the changes in our world as a result of Christians praying together. Through prayer, the impossible becomes possible. Through prayer, God multiplies our
efforts. Whenever God determines to do a great work He first sets His people to pray!
God wants us to pray. Listen to this promise that Jesus told His disciples in John 16:23-24, "I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete." When I think about 2008 for you as a person, as a family and for people I get excited about the potential life change that can take place.
This a great and exciting season for Celebrate Church! So many great things are happening. 40 Days of Purpose is just around the corner, and there are opportunities that will be available to us where we can impact thousands with great message of Christ. But it MUST be bathed in prayer to see it's full potential reached!
There are many other opportunities and exciting things happening in 2008. This Sunday is Vision Night - I really do hope you can attend. We will share with you some of those opportunities and call each of you to lock your faith together in prayer as we ask God to do what humanly cannot be done for His kingdom, but only done through the prayer of His followers!
I am calling on you to stand with me in prayer in 2008, and let's be amazed at what God will do!!
Praying and Growing Together,

Pastor Joe
