"Just" a Dad
Joe Saragusa, Lead Pastor

DadAs I look around at the world, I see great athletes & great intellectuals.  I see others with creative masterful craftsmen skills & I see incredible communicators... yet I never saw myself as any of those, and I have often wondered, "God, what have I done?"  Then it hit me... I don't consider myself a craftsman, but in a moment of love and affection I realized I conceived a human being, a child.  What an incredible feat in and of itself.  Here is flesh of flesh and bone of my bone: a son, a daughter, and another son.  All miracles.  Two eyes. A nose. A living, breathing human being who will grow up and think thoughts, and cry tears, and shake hands, and tell jokes, and battle the odds and challenges of life.  It is incredible that I fathered a child.  And I am more than "just" a dad.

To be the father that my kids love and need is a learned skilled.  I have to be intentional in finding helpful and consistent resources that will equip my effectiveness and efficiency.  To be the father that my kids love and need is understanding that fathering is important.  That the growth and health of my children are my responsibility and not just that of my wife.

In a culture that is saturated with high-priced politicians and popular personalities, athletes, and pop stars.  I may never get the opportunity to stand in the light of celebrity or athletic stardom, but being the father that my kids need will one day have it's rewards.  There's no telling how the reward will come in.

Perhaps it will be the squeeze of my daughter's hand... and tears will come to my eyes as I realize how wonderful it is to be loved by such a person.  Maybe it will be a summer afternoon when I sit as an old man on the front porch in my rocker, not saying a word, simply looking out at my many grandchildren and enjoying the fact that I've done one of the most important jobs in the world and done it well.

All of those moments will be capped off knowing that my heavenly Father is smiling as He says, "Well done, you have been faithful.  I called you to be a father and I gave you these children - the most precious people in the world and you raised them wonderfully."  Then He says, "THANK YOU."

Then I understand that I have lived a life that matters... simply by being a father.  I wish the same for every dad...  and a very Happy Father's Day to each of you.

Dad

Keys to Effective Prayer
Joe Saragusa, Lead Pastor

prayerGod is looking for people He can use. He's looking for leaders who will pray! While we, on the other hand, tend to look for man made solutions, God is saying, "I'm looking leaders who are men and women of God that will pray!"

Nehemiah shows us the secrets of praying like a leader.  Nehemiah prays for four months straight when he heard about the downfall of Jerusalem. It was no casual prayer, and it gives us a great pattern for effective praying.

Here are Nehemiah's keys to effective prayer!

Worship

Join the Worship Team!

NEW OPENINGS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR MUSICIANS AND SINGERS TO JOIN THE CELEBRATE CHURCH WORSHIP TEAM.

We have a wonderful team of musicians and singers who lead us in praise & worship every Sunday morning. It's time for this team to grow.

If you love God and know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, see Celebrate as your home church and are skilled in playing a musical instrument or singing to a confident level then we would love to meet you.

Often we will think of core instruments such as drums, keyboards and guitars; yes we are looking for all of those, but this is not the limit. You may play Saxophone, Violin or Flute, to name just a few other instruments we could incorporate.

And musical styles also; from gospel, rock, latin and jazz to many more. The broader the better as we bring more variety to our worship experience.

God is the ultimate Creator and the giver of imagination for us also to be creative in our expression of love for Him.

If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please contact Mike Parkes at mike@celebratechurch.org or 863-242-0274.

July 4th Volunteers Needed!

At Celebrate Church, July 4th is always an incredible Community Outreach opportunity!

Once again, this year we hope to have a memorable presence in the Celebration Community parade, as well as at the festivities on the evening in downtown Celebration.

We need 50 volunteers to be in the parade on Friday morning (July 4th) and 20 to volunteer to help with our hospitality booth from 5pm to 10:30pm on Friday evening.  We are looking for volunteers who will work a shift of one to two hours.

We will be providing a free refreshment & hospitality station for all of the July 4th Revelers.  It's a great time to invite people to Celebrate, share the gospel, and provide hospitality in the name of Jesus!

If you are interested in volunteering for the hospitality booth or the parade, please stop by the info center on Sunday or email janet@celebratechurch.org.  You can also call the church office at 407-566-0155.
